Construction Expo 2013, the country’s only comprehensive exhibition related to all facets of the construction industry, is scheduled to be held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Hall on 14, 15 and 16 June 2013 for the second consecutive year.
The event is considered the central meeting point of all stakeholders related to the construction industry and will feature the entire gamut of industry players who will showcase all their latest technological developments, products and portfolios during the three day event.
With heavy emphasis laid on infrastructure development in the country together with the booming economy, Sri Lanka has been seen as one of the most potent destinations for all construction related equipment and services. The rapid development projects that have been planned and forecasted by the Government which include major expansion and investment in the north together with continuous emphasis on development in the south has made the island nation a hub for all stakeholders related to the industry.
The exhibition, therefore, is set to cater to all markets and stakeholders, making it a central meeting point to network, exchange technologies and ideas, network and expand their products portfolios and services in order to keeping line with the rapid progress in development witnessed across the country. Chairman of the organising committee of Construction Expo 2013, Mahanama Jayamanna said that the event will give all visitors and participants the best opportunity to experience the wide array of products and services on offer in Sri Lanka.
“This event is the only place in the country where people from all walks of life, ranging from the basic consumer to industry giants related to the construction industry could meet and network. It has built a reputation of being the best destination in which every visitor and participant could achieve their needs in services or products related to the construction industry. This year’s exhibition will feature almost all the aspects of the industry and we believe that it would play a vital part in building bridges among various aspects of the industry for the betterment of country and its people,” he said.The event will feature participation of both private and Government entities that play a pivotal role in the construction industry of the country. The event will also have incorporated events which would be conducted by a specialised set of experts who are considered giants in their chosen field of expertise.
The event supported by the Board of Investment and the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau is set to attract, as in the past year, a vast array of visitors who will provide all participants with an ideal market mix.
Co-organiser of the exhibition, Presidential Award winning exhibition organiser Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (LECS) believe that the event would give all visitors an ideal experience in the construction industry.
“This is a one-of-a-kind event and we invite every citizen to participate and witness the only place in which the entire industry congregates. With the rapid development our country is experiencing, the Construction Expo will provide the ideal opportunity to the general public, stakeholders, related businesses and all other industries to visit and witness the marvels of construction,” Imran Hassan, Director of LECS, said.
The event has been organised by the Ceylon Institute of Builders (CIOB), an organisation that has been in the forefront of the industry since its inception in 1961.
