The Commonwealth Secretariat will extend support to Sri Lanka to strengthen human resource management at the State sector, according to Government sources.
The Secretariat through the move aims to empower State sector institutions and enhance efficiency in State institutions.
The Ministry of Finance says the Commonwealth Secretariat will also help to establish a special unit to prepare international level policies for the wellbeing of the State sector.
Accordingly, the services of an international advisor will be provided to the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration.
In addition, technical support will also be obtained to enhance the competitiveness of the leather and shoe production industry in Sri Lanka. The Commonwealth Secretariat has approved a proposal submitted by the Industrial Development Board in this connection.
