Colombo Land appoints Vasula Premawardhana as CEO

Colombo Land and Development Company PLC (CLDC), a leading real estate development company in Sri Lanka announced the appointment of Vasula Premawardhana as the Chief Executive Officer of CLDC with effect from 1 January.

Premawardhana is an accomplished professional with over 20 years of comprehensive professional and commercial experience both domestically and internationally. He serves as a Director on the boards of several listed and unlisted companies. He also holds an MA in Financial Economics from the University of Colombo, a BSc. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California – Los Angeles, USA and is a past pupil of Royal College in Colombo.

Speaking about his appointment, Premawardhana said: “With the Liberty Plaza complex being revamped, its refurbishment nearing completion and the surrounding hotels coming into play soon, I am quite optimistic about the future of this iconic mixed development space. Furthermore, with the Government’s push to develop the city with concepts such as Megapolis, I also envision great opportunity for the very strategic Pettah property of Colombo Land. I look forward to a challenging year ahead and I am confident that we will be able to achieve great heights with the help of my dynamic team and the vibrant Board of Directors.”
