Sri Lanka successfully concluded hosting the two-day South Asian Agricultural Research and Farmers’ Coordinating Workshop yesterday.
The conference was opened by Minister Duminda Dissanayake while representatives from countries such as Pakistan, India, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were present.
The meeting focussed on finding solutions to problems that affect the agricultural sector as a result of climatic change within the region. It also discussed regional initiatives which should be taken over food security and the development of the agricultural sector.
