The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI), the pioneer Industry chamber in Sri Lanka, has organised a comprehensive seminar on income tax and inland revenue services and benefits for the year 2013 on Wednesday, 16 January 2013 from 9 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. at the Mahaweli Centre Auditorium on Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Colombo 7.
The Commissioner General of Inland Revenue, Commissioner of Tax Policy and Deputy Commissioners who head the secretarial and taxpayer services divisions will be among the presenters at this unique seminar.
CNCI Secretary General and CEO Kumara Kandalama stated that the seminar is expected to cover vital topics such as the income tax calendar for 2013 , dates for filing returns and making payments, various forms of tax concessions, tax exemptions with particular emphasis on the SME sector, employment income, investments, personal and corporate tax, exemptions on investments, clarifications on NBT/ESC/ VAT/SVAT payments, the Budget highlights for the year 2013, changes to individual and corporate tax and tax benefits granted to FDIs and other investments, along with the special concessions, facilities and benefits granted by the Department of Inland Revenue for taxpayers will be highlighted.
This will be the first occasion in 2013 at which top officials from the Department of Inland Revenue will meet business personalities from the private sector.
