CIOB organises construction related training programs at JITF

Organising a series of training programs for youths/artisans in Jaffna during the period of 18 to 20 January, Ceylon Institute of Builders (CIOB) as the training arm of the event, the Jaffna international trade Fair (JITF) will take place at the Duraiappah Stadium in Jaffna.

The main purpose of this effort is to help the participants to enhance their knowledge on the subjects related to construction industry in the Jaffna Peninsula.

Helping the CIOB to organise the training program in Jaffna, are the following organisations: Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Yalpanam (CCIY), National Youth Services Council (NYSC) Jaffna District office and Regional office- Northern Province, Red Cross Movement, Industrial Development Board and all construction companies in Jaffna.

Nearly 600 participants are expected to attend these training programs throughout the three days, and a valuable certificate will be awarded to all participants at the end of each training program.

The training will be free of charge, sponsoring the training program are the  following institutions; representing tiling and plumbing Synergy Ventures, Lanka Aluminium Industries for aluminium fabrication, Melwire Rolling for steel fabrication, Asian Paints Lanka for painting, Rhino roofing for roofing technology and Mascons for wood composites doors.

The Ceylon Institute is expecting a rapid development in the work force in the construction sector in Jaffna peninsula by providing these opportunities free of charge for the trainees.
