Who would want to miss a very exciting talk focused on current business issues, information of respective business sectors or enhancing sustainable business stability and growth matched with a lavish five-star hotel breakfast buffet?

McQuire Rens & Jones (Pvt) Ltd., together with Cinnamon Lakeside once again, organised one of their flagship events, the Breakfast Meeting titled ‘Cinnamon Lakeside Invites for Breakfast with McQuire’. This event is held at the Library, Cinnamon Lakeside, every other month where distinguished hands-on business leaders talk on various current business themes. The breakfast meeting that was held on 21 February 2012, the fourth in the series, was addressed by Giles Watkins, Managing Director at Coats Thread Exports (Pvt) Ltd.

Giles delivered an interesting talk, supported with a power-point presentation, on ‘Leading Beyond Borders’. It was a very informative talk which held the undivided attention of the audience until the end of his presentation which was followed by a question and answer session. His talk contained information on how to lead teams in other countries, how to lead teams that don’t directly report to you but where you are responsible for certain team outcomes. He also included three personal case studies with key learning, useful hints and valuable tips for leaders thrust with cross-cultural and cross-border responsibility.

Giles suggested six areas to focus on to mobilise teams to deliver high quality results irrespective of ethnic, gender and social diversity. The audience is by invitation and comprises of chairmen, managing directors, CEOs and divisional head.

McQuire Rens & Jones Managing Director & CEO Nalin Jayasuriya and Cinnamon Lakeside General Manager Denis Gruhier manage the selection of invitees.  Jayasuriya believes that this platform is an ideal opportunity for business leaders to enjoy space for networking, building fruitful relations, throwing up critical business issues and concerns and that the continuing strengthening of this meeting will help form a positive ‘lobby’ among business leaders to help frame a healthy business climate in our country.

The event was concluded with the presentation of a token of appreciation to Giles Watkins by Chandana Talwatte, Director Sales and Marketing at Cinnamon Lakeside, on behalf of McQuire and Cinnamon Lakeside.
