Commissioner.
Keith, who was elected president of CIMA in June 2014, began his career in the UK public sector where he won a BT scholarship to study management accountancy. He qualified in 1986. Keith joined Tower Hamlets, one of London’s Borough Councils, as Assistant Director before moving to neighbouring London Borough of Lewisham Council in 1997 as Director of Finance. He joined the Board of the UK’s Foreign Office in 2007, as the first ever qualified accountant and his team was highly commended in Public Team of the Year in 2010. As a member of the UK’s Top 200 Civil Servants, Keith worked across Whitehall and was active amongst those director generals who supported the UK Government’s Finance Profession in promoting good management accounting practices across departments.
