CEMS-Global USA will present the fourth Textech Sri Lanka 2013 International Expo, DyeChem Sri Lanka 2013, and the Colombo International Yarn & Fabric Show at the Sri Lankan Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC) from 28 February to 2 March 2013.
The exhibition for 2013 is being held under the theme ‘Your Gateway to the Textile, Garment and Apparel Industry of Sri Lanka’.
The multinational exhibition organiser, which launched its operations as CEMS Lanka in 2009, stepped in with a vision to further expand into the textile and garment sector by bringing together most reputed international manufacturers and suppliers to Sri Lanka through its exhibitions.
The three-day will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and targets those looking for ventures through a business-to-business (B2B) framework. The CEMS expects a total of 250 booths to be set for the 2013 exhibition.
“We are indeed pleased to work in Sri Lanka and I feel that in a small way we act as brand ambassadors of the nation,” said CEMS Global USA Group CEO Shahid Sarwar at a media interaction forum.
He added that Industries of Sri Lanka could expand their share in markets overseas while attracting more foreign investment in the highly potential garments and textile industry with the ever-increasing competition in the world market.
Acknowledging the key position of South Asia in the exports markets and the prevailing potential it has that could further increase export figures, the group has been organising the Textech series of exhibition for 14 years.
The international branded exhibition was brought to Sri Lanka to help display the latest technology the nation has adopted that allows it to stay up-to-date with the quality of competitors existing worldwide.
Sarwar asserted that the exhibition is highly viable in the Sri Lankan context as its apparel exports surpassed US$ 3.5 billion and account for over 50% of the country’s export earnings. Further, he commended the close lead Sri Lanka has with regard to the exports of apparel and garments over its competitors such as India, Bangladesh and Vietnam.
Textech, Yarn & Fabric, and DyeChem and are a part of CEMS-Global’s international series of exhibitions and the latter is targeted not only to the textile and apparel sector but to the entire manufacturing sector as well. The DyeChem exhibition would also be held under the same name in Bangladesh, Indonesia, India and Singapore after the exhibition concludes in Sri Lanka.
