CEB employees to report sick today?

The employees belonging to 33 trade unions of Sri Lanka’s power authority, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) will initiate a trade union action from August 03, CEB sources say.

The employees representing these trade unions are to report sick on August 03.

Their major demand is to reimburse the arrears of 10 months salaries that were held when a salary increment was granted in 2009.

A spokesman of the Joint Trade Union Coalition of the Ceylon Electricity Board said that more actions would be initiated unless the authorities granted their demands.
