CBL commemorates National Quality Week

Ceylon Biscuits Ltd., (CBL) Commence its annual program to commemorate the World Standards day and the National Quality week yesterday with a flag hoisting and tree planting ceremony held at the company premises the under the patronage of  companies chairman M.P. Wickramasinghe and members of the Board of Directors.



Mrs. M.S. Shyama Rajapakse the Quality Assurance Manager of CBL also presented the Chairman with a flag showing the quality emblem to symbolize the commencement of CBL Quality week.

The company annually takes part with much enthusiasm in activities associated with the National Quality Week and the World Standard Day which falls on 14th October to reinforce the important of quality assurance among its employees.  

Towards this objective this year too the number of activities has been organized by the quality assurance division of the company.  

Poster and Art Competitions for employees and their children, Inter Division Drama competition, awareness program for outsourced employees, Quality Star Competition are the main activities organized aiming at CBL employees to mark this occasion.    

Another feature of this year’s program is and Inter School debating competition organized to create an awareness among school children in the area close to CBL on the aspects of Quality Assurance.  

The closing ceremony of the CBL Quality Week is scheduled to be held on 16th October, 2010 at CBL Nenamedura Premises, Highlevel Road, Pannipitiya.  

Since inception of the company CBL has been giving much importance on the quality of all products manufactured by the company.  Today the companies flag ship brand Munchee is the Market Leader in Biscuit Industry of Sri Lanka while almost all other brands of the company. Ceylon biscuits Limited are the largest exporter of biscuits, chocolates, cakes, nutritional foods; Soya based food products and dehydrated organic fruits in Sri Lanka.
