  •  Debut ‘Cargills Member’ lifestyle loyalty experience
Cargills FoodCity on Tuesday announced its partnership with ‘Star Points’ to offer Cargills FoodCity customers a one-of-a-kind  lifestyle ‘loyalty’ experience through its ‘Cargills Member’ loyalty program. The launch event was graced by Imtiaz Abdul Wahid, Managing Director of Cargills (Ceylon) PLC, Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, Group Chief Executive, Dialog Axiata PLC, Anthony Rodrigo, Chief Digital Services Officer, Dialog Axiata PLC and Sidath Kodikara – Chief Executive Officer – Cargills Foods Company Ltd.     Synergising strength to create multidimensional value Wahid commenting on this newly-established partnership said, “Dialog Axiata and Cargills are two corporates that have really understood Sri Lankan customers and kept their products and services ahead of customer needs. In an increasingly fast-paced market environment, we need to consistently finetune our business models to inspire customer delight. Our partnership with ‘Star Points’ comes in this light where we felt that such a partnership would synergise our individual strengths to create multidimensional value for our customers.” Dr. Wijayasuriya said: “The coming together of Cargills FoodCity, Sri Lanka’s largest supermarket chain and the country’s largest loyalty network Star Points will no doubt define an unparalleled loyalty rewards experience for Sri Lankan consumers. We are honoured to partner Cargills in the launch of this cutting edge loyalty, offering, which will combine the very latest in customer relationship management and connectivity technologies with the customer centric ethos shared by our organisations, to deliver a loyalty program which will be made available to millions of consumers across all provinces of Sri Lanka.”     Holistic and rewarding lifestyle experience Kodikara said: “The new ‘Cargills Member’ loyalty card would bring Cargills FoodCity even closer to the customer. “Many of our customers have been requesting us to initiate a loyalty scheme. However we took our time rolling it out because we did not simply want to have a loyalty program where customers just earn and burn points. Our ‘loyalty’ program has been developed to create a holistic lifestyle experience for the individual shopper. The program would not only provide the opportunity to save more and enjoy better discounts and bargains but would also strive to create that opportunity based on the needs and aspirations of individuals and families.” “This is why we have established what we see as a winning partnership with ‘Star Points’. We can make this exciting experience possible for our customers by bringing together our hallmark of customer innovation with Dialog’s expertise in technology innovation,” he added. This loyalty program using the Star Points platform would offer its members unparalleled benefits and discounts throughout the year while also giving them the opportunity to earn and burn ‘Star Points’ at Cargills FoodCity. The program also allows members to earn and redeem their ‘Star Points’ through 400 Star Points merchant partners.     Free and over- the-counter The card is issued free to any customer who simply has to fill in a form of registration and hand it over to the cashier to receive the Cargills Member Loyalty Card over-the-counter. Based on the points accumulated the membership would be tiered into Gold, Silver and Bronze cardholders. A customer’s points tally will appear on every purchase bill, which will help them keep track of their accumulated points. 1 Star Point will equal Rs.1/-. The Star Points network consists of over 400 partner merchants with more than 20,000 partner outlets island-wide. They cover a variety of multiple retail sectors and are the first and only mobile-based loyalty network in the country.
