  •  Caltex partners with German Tech to develop future generation automobile engineers
Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC recently partnered with the Ceylon German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI) for the 12th consecutive year to conduct its highly informative technical course on “Lubrication essentials and future trends in the automotive industry” for over 150 final year automotive students registered for CGTTI’s main Diploma program. As the leader in the local finished lubricant business, Chevron has developed a successful relationship with CGTTI over the years with the mutual aim of gearing future generation automobile engineers with the essential industry knowledge and training on automotive and industrial lubricant technology, and latest industry trends. Reiterating the organisation’s global vision ‘to be the global energy company most admired for its people, partnerships and performance’, Chevron formed a vital alliance with CGTTI in February 2001, introducing a number of special training programs for CGTTI students that are aspiring to be hands-on professionals in the automotive sector. The technical courses conducted by senior Caltex lubricant technology experts are designed to provide CGTTI final year students a more practical and insightful understanding of the lubricant industry dynamics, both locally and globally. As a socially responsible organisation, Caltex is aware of its responsibility towards the society. The organisation believes that ‘the students of today are the future leaders of tomorrow’ and hence need to be groomed and moulded to take up the challenges in the automotive industry. As a result, the company is continuously involved in technical seminars, presentations and education campaigns for various industry stakeholder groups including channel partners, direct and indirect customers, and technical students.
