BARAKA, one of the largest Ayurveda drugs manufacturing organisations in Sri Lanka has come forward as the principal sponsor of ‘Ayurveda Expo 2013’ organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL).
Bio Extracts which has won many Presidential Export Awards exports its products to more than 35 countries around the world covering America, Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia and has earned a high reputation worldwide for their indigenous and Ayurveda medical products. “We are extremely happy to come forward as the Principal Sponsor of ‘Ayurveda Expo 2013’ International Indigenous Healthcare Exhibition,” said Expolanka Holdings (parent company of Bio Extracts Ltd., manufacturers of BARAKA products) Group Director Sattar Kassim.
‘Ayurveda Expo 2013’ is the 4th International Indigenous Healthcare Exhibition conducted in Sri Lanka. It is organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka in partnership with Ministry of Indigenous Medicine, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Authority, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and Sri Lankan Airlines. It will be held from 12 – 14 July 2013 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo. The main objective of ‘Ayurveda Expo 2013’ is to showcase to the world, Sri Lanka’s capabilities and expertise in treating different ailments through indigenous medical systems. Organisations, both public and private, that manufacture Ayurveda and Indigenous Medicine and provide services including tourist hotels that have Ayurveda related services are expected to exhibit their products and services at ‘Ayurveda Expo 2013’.

BARAKA which operates a state of the art manufacturing facility conforms its products to the highest quality standards. It’s manufacturing facility is ISO 14001, ISO 22000, ISO 9000, HACCP and GMP certified and the products are HALAL, USDA ORGANIC and EU ORGANIC certified. All products have been registered and approved by the Ministry of Indigenous Medicine. Bio Extracts is the only manufacturing facility which has two separate facilities, one approved by the Ministry of Indigenous Medicine – for manufacture of Ayurvedic Products and the other approved by the CDDA – for the manufacture of Cosmetics. Ayurveda 2013 Steering Committee Chairman Thilak Godamanna, said already many Sri Lankan and Indian organisations engaged in indigenous medical product manufacturing and providing services have reserved stalls. In addition, delegations from Japan, India, Germany, South Africa and China (Shanghai) have confirmed their participation at the exhibition. A Symposium on ‘South Asian Traditional Medicine’ will be held on Saturday, 13 July 2013 at the same venue, where world renowned professionals in the sector will make presentations on the latest research findings in the sector. The target group of the symposium is Doctors and Para medical staff in the indigenous medical sector and the public who wish to learn more about indigenous medicine.
