Sri Lanka’s leading stationery manufacturer, Atlas, recently obtained the exclusive licence to publish images of several popular children’s cartoon characters and superheroes on its range of stationery products.
As the authorised licensee, Atlas is entitled to brand its products with images of Marvel Superheroes, including Wolverine, Thor, Iron Man the First Avenger and the ever popular Spiderman.
The company also obtained rights for the Ben 10 range of images, including Ben 10, Ben 10 Alien Force and Ben 10 Ultimate, as well as children’s cartoon The Power puff Girls.
“According to the agreement, the company is legally entitled to use these images, in contrast to the number of stationery products carrying illegal pirated images that are currently flooding the market”, said Atlas COO/Director Nishantha Hennadige.
“Importers, distributors, whole sellers and retailers stocking and selling these pirated images are committing an offence and are punishable by law”, he added further.
Hennadige opined that customers buying Atlas products carrying these images can be confident that they are purchasing genuine and quality branded products, rather than low quality illegal products.
Retailers and whole sellers who sell items with these images are also committing a punishable offence
Atlas is the stationery brand of choice among the school and office segment and the market leader in several categories including the pen and book segment.
The company maintains over 500 stock keeping units including exercise books, pens and stationary items and is the only stationery brand available island wide.
