“This was one of the most successful consumer promotions ever, in terms of the prizes on offer and the response from our customers,” said Richard Pieris Distributors Head of Marketing Minodh de Sylva. “We set a new sales record in December 2014 outperforming our targets, in contrast to many other retailers who have reported lower than expected seasonal sales.”
Families that shopped at Arpico Supercentres or Arpico ‘Daily’ outlets for Rs. 3,000 to Rs.7,500 in December 2014, with three nominated brands among their purchases, were eligible to win 17 of the 25 holidays to destinations such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Vietnam, Philippines or Dubai.
Families that shopped for Rs. 7,500 to Rs. 15,000 with three nominated brands were eligible to win four holidays to South Africa, Australia, China or Japan, while high-spenders who shopped for Rs. 15,000 or more with three nominated brands vied for holidays to USA, England, France or Brazil.
The nominated brands were Anchor, Coca Cola, Delmege, Domex, Dove, Kelloggs, Kohomba Baby, Knorr, Marina, Munchee, Revello, St. Clairs, Surf Excel, Todlo and Prima Treats.
The Arpico chain now comprises 17 Arpico Supercentres, 29 showrooms and 16 Arpico ‘Daily’ mini supermarkets.
