Sayerlack, the innovative Italian wood solutions product founded in 1954, and available in Sri Lanka through JAT Holdings, has become the first brand in the world to obtain the CATAS – WKI Premium Plus Certificate.
Sayerlack was the first water-based lacquer introduced to the global wood coating industry in 1998, and has since become one of the world’s largest producers of wood coating.
Sayerlack creates products that protect wood from the effects of weather and the passing of time, while enhancing its natural beauty. The company engages in continuous research and development to ensure that its products stay ahead in the waterborne coating system for exterior wood and deliver to the needs of customers. The CATAS – WKI Premium Plus Certificate re-instates Sayerlack’s dedication to innovation and high quality production. The products that passed the tests to obtain the certification are available at JAT Holdings.
JAT Holdings, authorised distributor for Sayerlack in Sri Lanka, has been providing total solutions in timber coating to the country’s furniture industry since 1993. Aelian Gunawardene, Managing Director, JAT Holdings (Pvt) Ltd. said, “Over the past 18 years JAT Holdings has offered Sri Lankans the world’s finest wood coating solutions and the certification received by Sayerlack reinforces the fact that we are providing Sri Lankans with the best products in the industry.”
The CATAS – WKI PREMIUM PLUS is a certificate issued by two certification authorities, namely CATAS (Wood-furniture Research and Development Laboratory, Udine, Italy) and WKI (Wood-furniture Research and Development Laboratory, Braunschweig, Germania). The certification, which follows the CATAS – WKI PREMIUM certificate received in 2009, attests that the Sayerlack coating system has passed the rigorous testing stipulated by European regulations and by the two certification authorities. For this particular certification, Sayerlack products were physically tested for durability in external use and wood protection for two years, as well as the quality and consistency of production batches.
