Associated Motorways (Private) Limited (AMW) held its annual Marathon Retread Tyres Dealer Convention 2011 at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo recently.

Bandara of Liberty Tyre Service, Kelaniya, won the second place and Sanjeewa de Silva of Apollo Tyre Service, Kuruwita secured the third place.
AMW organised this Convention with the key objectives of appreciating and rewarding the services of Marathon dealers, encourage those who had performed magnificently, further improve the healthy relationship between the management and the dealers by building a closer rapport and to consider the top management and the dealer network as members of one family and the importance of meeting under one roof.
AMW introduced Marathon retread tyres to the Sri Lankan market more than 50 years ago. Marathon retread tyres are not second to any new tyre in the market because they are manufactured using state-of-the-art technology available in the modern world. High quality raw materials are used in the manufacture of Marathon retread tyres under a specialised production process in adherence with global standards.
AMW’s manufacturing process of Marathon retread tyres has been awarded the ISO-9001:2008 International Quality Certificate and the ISO-14001 International Environment Protection Certificate.
Authorized AMW Marathon retread tyre dealers are spread across Sri Lanka. They are based in every area of the country in an island-wide network. These dealers also collect old tyres from customers and hand them over to the AMW factory. After retreading they are given back to customers on the scheduled date.
The process of retreading tyres not only saves energy and raw materials but also helps to keep the environment clean by preventing, to a large extent, the dumping of old, worn-out tyres. Not only in Asia, but countries in Europe are also now in the business of retreading tyres because of the critical environmental factor.
AMW is the pioneer in the sphere of retreading tyres in Sri Lanka. Not only in the field of retreading, AMW has long experience and wide expertise in the production of new tyres as well.
