Access Engineering partners with Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Company

  • Partnership will enable maintenance and repair of container handling equipment
Access Engineering together with Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Company Limited of China, known as ZPMC, incorporated as ZPMC Lanka Ltd., for the maintenance and repair of container handling equipment where ZPMC will hold 70% of equity and Access Engineering, 30% equity in the new company. ZPMC is the world’s largest container handling equipment manufacturer and has supplied equipment to all leading ports in 76 countries, maintaining over a 70% of market share during the last 10 years. In Sri Lanka, they have supplied container handling equipment to the Jaya Container Terminal of SLPA, South Asia Gateway Terminals and the newly commissioned Colombo International Container Terminal. ZPMC has joined Access Engineering and entered into a contract with Colombo International Container Terminals to service and maintain the container handling equipment supplied by them. ZPMC, through the newly formed joint venture, will look to further expand their services to the ports in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and the African region. ZMPC will also explore possibilities of manufacturing and refurbishment of cranes out of Sri Lanka. The majority of ZPMC is held by China Communication Construction Company (CCCC), a top 100 company of the Fortune 500 companies in the world. This is a significant step forward for Access Engineering in the mechanical engineering field.
