AB Securitas achieves World Class Global Performance Excellence Award 2016

AB Securitas Ltd., the leading Loss Prevention and Secure Transport service provider in Sri Lanka is being honoured with the World Class Global Performances Excellence Award under Service Sector (Large Scale), organised by Asia Pacific Quality Organisation (APQO) on 22 November. The award ceremony was held at Rotorua, New Zealand during the 22nd APQO/International Conference on quality. 

Thirty organisations from 10 Asian and Pacific Rim Countries are being recognised as exemplary companies of world class quality performance. They have achieved the Global Performance Excellence Award modelled after the US Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence Award or the ‘European Foundation for Quality Management Award’. 

The Global Performance Excellence Award (GPEA) is the only formal international recognition of performance/business excellence. Since 2000, 201 organisations have achieved the three rigorous categories of this award. GPEA is a strategic enabling tool for global performance excellence. It helps to strengthen the strategies and performance of organisations to succeed in the fast evolving global market place. The GPEA process promotes awareness in performance excellence as an increasingly important tool in competitiveness towards global business success and sustainability.

The Asia Pacific Quality Organisation (APQO) was founded and organised by National o Quality Organisations in Asian and Pacific Rim countries including the American Society for Quality and was incorporated in the Philippines in 1985. It is a non-profit organisation formed to be a primary mover for quality and continuous improvement for goods and services and quality of life in the Asia Pacific Region. 

AB Securitas Ltd. is the first ever Lost Prevention Service Provider in the country to be bestowed with this prestigious award. The Company commenced operations in year 1994 and it is the first Sri Lankan Loss Prevention Companies to obtain National Quality Award (2015) as well which is a clear indication of its commitment towards a high quality service to their customers and other stake holders. The company is in operation over two decades leading its way in Loss Prevention, Cash in Transit, Total Cash Management, ATM Management and Electronic Security and has Island wide presence with fully fledged Cash Management Centres in Anuradhapura and Matara. AB Securitas is an active founding member of SLASSPA (Sri Lanka Security Services Provider’s Association) since year 2005 and also an active member of the Industrial Security Foundation (ISF) since year 2009.
