Company plans to establish over 72 companies covering a spectrum of industries
Aark Holdings Ltd. announced an investment of US $ 100 million for its operations in Sri Lanka. The conglomerate is set to establish over 72 companies under a wide array of industries, including wind power, automobiles, communication, media, hospitality, export trading and eco friendly businesses, further uplifting the country’s economy.
A series of global donations and funding including grants from Cash Money Bank – Miami, funding from Heaven on Earth Africa Charity Project and various organisations in Switzerland, UK and the US will be directed through BOI for the establishment of the largest conglomerate in Sri Lanka. Furthermore, Aark Holdings promises a minimum of 10,000 employment opportunities through the establishment, which includes openings in affiliate companies.
Upbeat about the launch and future plans Janith Dias Bandaranaike CEO of Aark Holdings said, “We are thrilled to introduce a concept which will further enrich our country and economy. There is no better time than the present to raise the bar of our country, our heritage and what we as Sri Lanka truly stand for.
“I would like to thank President Mahinda Rajapakse for granting us his blessings to introduce the latest technology, innovation research and development enhancing our whole country. We are here to make a difference and be the difference. The stage is now set to build an Aark millennia.”
The announcement and the launch ceremony will encompass a series of carnivals from Colombo 4 to Galle Face Green titled “I am Aark” on 21 December. The concept is all about truth, genuine motives, real beliefs and humanity which create unity, friendship of our fellow citizens.
The series of events is set to embed and promote ethnic harmony, honesty economic growth and financial stability. To strengthen consumer engagement, a SMS campaign will be launched in parallel which entitles entrants to receive impressive cash benefits through an online raffle draw.
Aark Holdings is renowned in the field of wind power. Through its company Wind Power Lanka Ltd., it commenced an energy efficiency wind energy farm project which initiated a 6 Mega Watts (MW) grid with Switzerland initially.
A micro study was conducted recently by the Chinese United Association and the China Guodian Group Corp. to enhance the national grid to a 100 MW wind power generator together with the help of the Government of Sri Lanka.
