The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Sydney in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Association for Software Services Companies (SLASSCOM) and the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) organised a webinar to introduce SLASSCOM Global Referral Program in Australia. Over 50 IT professionals in Australia participated in the Webinar.
The objectives of the webinar were to brief IT professionals of Sri Lankan origin and Australians on the SLASSCOM Global Referrals Program with a unique opportunity to earn rewards by driving global business opportunities to the ICT/BPM sector in Sri Lanka.
The webinar started with welcoming remarks by Consul General of Sri Lanka in Sydney Lakshman Hulugalle highlighting the importance of IT sector promotion in Australia. Consul (Commercial) Abdul Raheem made a brief remark on the background of Australian IT Sector and synapsis of promotional activities undertaken by Sri Lanka Mission in Sydney in collaboration with ICTA, SLASSCOM, EDB, Department of Commerce and the Ministry of Foreign Relations in the recent past.
ICTA Chief Digital Economy Officer Anura de Alwis made an exclusive presentation on the overview, vision and strategy for the IT/BPM sector in Sri Lanka. Marketing Forum Alternate Head and CEO Loops Shehan Selvanayagam explained presenting SLASSCOM Global Referral Programme to the participants.
SLASSCOM Deputy Chairman Ashique Ali made a presentation on Island of Ingenuity (IOI) and SLASSCOM’s other initiatives in promoting Sri Lanka’s IT/BPM sector in global market with other stakeholders in Sri Lanka.
The webinar was concluded with the questions and answers from the audience and the interested parties registering online to join the SLASSCOM Global Referral Program.
