Brilliant Cuts Managing Directress Vindya Perera, a leader in the Lankan gem and jewellery industry, won the Gold Award for Best Women Exporter at the recently held 30th National Exports Awards, organised by the National Chamber of Exporters.
The Gala event, which recognises the invaluable services rendered by Sri Lankan exporters to boost the country’s economy, was held at Shangri La Hotel, Colombo and two of her companies, including Brilliant Cuts, received two bronze awards.
A certified gemmologist at the National Gem and Jewellery Authority Sri Lanka who entered the world of gem and jewellery at a young age, Vindya has worked relentlessly over the years to empower the industry by showcasing the raw talent possessed by the novice lapidary artists. She has won a number of local and international awards for her tireless and innovative work.
Receiving the award, Vindya said she is proud to be bestowed with this honour, marking yet another milestone in her journey of development.
“Winning the award for the Best Women Exporter is a remarkable feeling. The recognition for my work at the highest national platforms encourages and further motivates me to work harder and come up with innovative products that would bring positive attention and much needed foreign revenue to the country,” she said.
She added that the latest achievement by Brilliant Cuts reaffirms the company’s position as a leader in the gem and jewellery sector and recognises the contribution it has made for Sri Lanka’s exports.
