The third phase of ‘Sathosa Idam Nidhanaya’ was recently concluded at JAIC Hilton, Colombo. A collaborative effort by Unilever Sri Lanka and local retail giant of consumer goods, Lanka Sathosa, the project aims at uplifting the lives of Sri Lankans everywhere.
Initiated in 2016, ‘Idam Nidanaya’ this year awarded three winners prime plots of land close to the Colombo area. Additionally, 35 other lucky winners received gold coins worth a total of Rs. 1 million.
Gracing the occasion was; Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Co-operative Development, Vocational Training and Skills Development Buddhika Pathirana, Ministry of Industry and Commerce Secretary K.D.N. Ranjith Ashoka, Ministry Director Indika Ranatunga, Lanka Sathosa Chairman Thariq Kaleel, Lanka Sathosa Chief Executive Officer Dushmantha Thotawatta, Unilever Sri Lanka Chairman Carl Cruz, Customer Development Director Aruna Mawilmada, Head of Channel and Category Development, Elo Siccion and Head of Modern Trade Dinusha Ekanayake.
This year’s winners of the prime plots of land were Yulika Rasanjani from Badulla, Yashodha Ravindu Bandara Jayasundara from Boossa and Elizabeth Silva from Kurundugaha-Hethekma.
Laying claim to its undisputed title as the nation’s largest retail network, over the years Lanka Sathosa has offered its customers high quality products at low prices in the market. Symbolised as the state brand for retail, Sathosa has earned the trust of its loyal customers for many decades whilst also placing itself at the forefront of the nation’s price determiners.
Speaking at the occasion, Lanka Sathosa Chief Executive Officer Dushmantha Thotawatta had this to say: “Launched in collaboration with Unilever Sri Lanka, Sathosa Idam Nidhanaya has opened many opportunities for Sathosa customers to win prime land close to the Colombo area. This special program goes beyond corporate objectives by combining the strengths of two leading companies representing both the public and private sectors. The program has successfully been held for three consecutive years due to the collaborative efforts taken between our two organisations. I wish to extend my heartiest congratulations to the winners of the event.”
