Istanbul-based Turkish label manufacturer DeriDesen has expressed interest in starting a production plant in Sri Lanka.
A delegation of the leading manufacturers of leather products and leather labels for the garment industry has met with Sri Lanka’s State Minister of International Trade Sujeewa Senasinghe on Wednesday in Colombo for preliminary discussions on the commencement of production in Sri Lanka.
The company has focused on investments in Sri Lanka due to a request made by the State Minister during his recent visit to Turkey.
DeriDesen, a well-known and experienced label manufacturer based in Istanbul, Turkey since 1969, is one of the major leather label suppliers of the denim market out of Turkey. The company specialises in label manufacturing for jeans-wear, leather sportswear and PU labels along with printed fabric labels and hangtags.
General Manager and Member of the Board of Director of DeriDesen, Sahar Misanghi Zadeh, and Global Brand Development Manager Elif Sertkaya held discussions with the State Minister. The Chairperson of Sri Lanka’s Export Development Board, Indira Malwatta, also participated in the discussions.
