Thailand Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Chulamanee Chartsuwan, paid a courtesy visit to the Sri Lankan Ports Authority in Colombo yesterday.
She was welcomed by the Acting Chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, P.G. Dassanayake.
Both delegates, along with officials, discussed the historical relations that exist between the ports of the two countries as well as speaking about maritime affairs, ways to enhance the trade and maritime relationship between the two countries and the improvements achieved in the recent past.
Alphaliner ranked the Laem Chabang Port 20th, while the Port of Colombo was placed 23rd among the world’s container ports.
Later, delegates took part in an observatory visit of the port.
Marketing and Business Development Chief Manager Upul Jayatissa, Communications and Public Relations Chief Manager Nalin Aponso and Administration Additional Chief Manager Chandrika Naleer also joined the discussions on behalf of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.
