Industry giants converge at the BMICH to showcase innovative and cutting-edge technologies, set to transform the Packaging, Processing, Printing and Plastic industries of the future.

With the industry’s leading players embracing the 21st edition of Lankapak 2019, manufacturing professionals will once again gather together on one platform to explore the latest technologies already beginning to make an impact on these sectors.

Taking place over three days (11-13 September), Lankapak will welcome more than 120 suppliers with over 150 exhibitors lined up to showcase their latest innovations and driving sustainability in the manufacturing sector.

Lankapak 2019 is organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging (SLIP), established in 1975. It is recognised as one of the oldest packaging industry associations in South and South East Asia, having a proven track record of over four decades in promoting and advancing the printing and packaging industry.

The event is organised together with its ‘technical arm’, the Packaging Development Centre, and supported by Sri Lanka’s premier exhibition organiser CDC Events. It is endorsed by the Ministry of Commerce, together with Indian partner Futurex.

With a growing importance on industry collaboration to achieve a tangible circular economy that is both profitable and sustainable, visitors can meet and learn from suppliers offering the latest ‘green’ solutions for Sri Lanka and the region; for a broad spectrum of Packaging, Processing, Printing and Plastic services, 3D printing equipment and materials.

Packaging solutions for the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, household products and toiletries, hardware and FMCG will also be some of the sectors that will be on display for viewers. Effective Retail point of sale displays by the exhibitors is bound to attract the consumers’ attention and help make it a landmark event for the industry.

As well as providing the opportunity for buyers to discover the latest technologies and connect with potential suppliers, Lankapak 2019 will also play host to an extensive program of interactive events such as the International Congress on Packaging, Processing, Printing and Plastic to be held on 12 September at the BMICH Cinema Lounge, where international speakers and professionals in the industry will address the audience on the latest trends and overcoming current challenges faced by the industry.

The Lanka Star 2019 Award Ceremony will also be held on 12 September at the Kingsbury Hotel from 7 p.m. Awards will be presented to Students Category and Corporate Category winners of Lanka Star 2019 competition held in July. This year a Packaging Professional of the Year was recognised and will be felicitated at the award ceremony.
