STAR Holdings International Ltd., Sri Lanka’s emerging force for innovative fabric care, once again stormed the media in a colourful relaunch of its laundry soaps – now in five exciting colours.
Perhaps the most star studded event of the evening was the appearance of the Starlight branded helicopter that made its way on the shores of Mt. Lavinia beach on a miraculously cloudless and warm day despite the prevalent storm that was witnessed just hours before. The grand entrance of the helicopter left the uniformed onlookers beaming in awe and excitement as the five models made their way out of the chopper escorted by GM Marketing Hashan Haputhanthri.
Each model was dressed in a colour depicting a variant of the laundry soap – pink for a garden fresh feel, yellow for a blow of citrus, green for a hint of lime, white for Jasmine and blue for aqua. It was an exuberant experience as they made their red carpet entry in to the hotel while the onlookers erupted into a wave of cheers and applause.
Dubbed as ‘The cleaning revolution’ this product will be a gold mine for consumers in saving time from the tedious task of washing clothes by ensuring efficiency in removing dirt, optimising and enhancing colours while leaving their clothes with a lingering aroma.
With its super power technology and unique formula, the most popular FMCG product of Sri Lanka today has now received a new meaning.
Speaking at the event, Managing Director S.M. Wahid, torch bearer of this reputable company outlined the organisation’s vision and mission: “We will achieve our vision in bringing clarity in every Sri Lankan’s life ensuring all products to Sri Lankans are exclusively ‘from’ Sri Lankans. We are ever more focused on our core mission in bringing the best products to our consumers to make this product the no 1 choice of every house hold in this country.
We approach this challenge by applying the world’s finest ingredients driven by a passion to give the consumer the very best.”
Business tycoon Star Holdings CEO N. Nzumi Nawash outlined the organisational objectives by confidently stating that, “We at star holding will not relax until we achieve our position in the market place with the unique and value based products we are offering our consumers, from a proudly Sri Lankan company. And God willingly once we stabilise satisfying our valued consumers and gaining our market position we will take our brand on to the international scale too. For the coming years, we have lined up many infrastructure development of the company along strategic movements to maximise consumer awareness. We urge everyone to get together and be part of star’s mission to define and achieve clarity to every Sri Lankan in refreshing their lives.”
Mrs. Wahid, Director R&D, brainchild of Star’s unique and innovative products – in her emotional and motivating speech stated, “Hitting rock bottom was the solid foundation that this business was rebuilt on. Despite the many obstacles that came in between, I never gave up the vision that I had for this company. I must say that having a passion for what you do is the most important step to great achievements.
“A few years back, I composed a unique formulation with the help of reputed overseas R & D heads that was incorporated in the detergent powder. These changes finally made it a high quality state of the art product that I had always dreamed of. It is with this zeal that I strongly believe that starlight is the next emerging force of this country – as stated by the top officials in research and development boards abroad.
I am also proud and grateful to mention that Starlight’s current success and volume of sales have been solely achieved by word of mouth campaigns without a single advertisement to date which I believe has changed the marketing myth of advertising.”
General Manager – Marketing Hashan Haputhanthri outlined the company’s marketing strategy through his few powerful words; “Starlight will be nurtured as a quality and fighter brand that delivers outstanding results with regards to cleaning of a garment which essentially is the basis of everyone’s life. Our brand intent is ‘super cleaner’ and our brand essence is ‘super power’. They say that brands are built in the mind and the products are produced in the factory. In Sri Lanka, many brands are not exclusively built for Sri Lankans. But all the brands of Star Holdings International are targeted towards Sri Lankans since it is a Sri Lankan brand.”
Starlight’s first TV commercial was launched and aired in this event making it another milestone in the history of Star. The advertisement was hailed with positive reviews and feedback. It will be broadcasted on all popular national channels henceforth.
