Sri Lanka this week sought fresh support from the United States to boost socio-economic development.
A meeting was convened for high level engagement with Finance Minister Ali Sabry and the US Department of State experts Assistant Secretary - Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu and US Department of State Economic Unit Chief John MC Daniel along with the Experts of USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator Anjali Kaur and the International Cooperation Specialist Sanjay R. Iyer.
The meeting held at the residence of Sri Lanka Ambassador to the US Mahinda Samarasinghe discussed a variety of options and solutions for strategic economic development for short term and midterm challenges.
Minister Sabry has received the assurance of the valuable support from the esteemed institutions to strengthen the economy of Sri Lanka, Finance Ministry said in a statement.
