Sri Lanka has successfully undertaken the first export of palmyra based products to France and Britain in addition to a sales promotion recently.
The key initiative was under the full supervision of the Palmyra Development Board and the Palmyra Research Institute.
The promotion was in collaboration with the Palmyra Development Board’s registered distribution agency in England at the Spires Shopping Centre in Barnet, London, as well as in London EN5 5XY.
With the guidance of the Plantation Industries Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana and the State Minister Lohan Ratwatte, Palmyra Development Board Chairman Dr. Krishantha Pathiraja is spreading the revival of the neglected industry especially via exports thereby earning much needed foreign exchange. He also said exports enable taking the brand of Sri Lanka’s palmyra products to the world.
