Sri Lanka Embassy in Oman and the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka (EDB) jointly organised a B2B virtual meeting between manufacturers of fiberglass and acrylic products of the two countries.
Al Hilal Fiber & Acrylic Industry LLC, a popular manufacturer of fiberglass and acrylic finished products in Oman, and the Sri Lankan companies namely, Neil Fernando & Co. Ltd., Danusha Group of Companies, Northwest Marine Ltd. and Sealanie Boat Yard Ltd. participated in the webinar.
Opening the B2B webinar meeting Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Sultanate of Oman Ameer Ajwad highlighted that Sri Lanka and Oman have prioritised manufacturing sector in their economic diversification drive and that there is enormous potential for collaboration between Sri Lankan and Omani companies in manufacturing fiberglass products including different types of boats.
Representing Al Hilal Industrial Group of Oman at the webinar its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Salim Nettour hailed the advanced technological knowhow of the Sri Lankan companies in this sector and expressed keen interest to collaborate with them in expanding the business in the region for mutual benefits of both countries.
Al Hilal Industrial Group of Oman and the Sri Lankan companies who participated at the webinar agreed to identify areas of their interest in this sector and exchange proposals for possible collaboration in the near future.
Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) Director Anoma Premathilake, EDB Deputy Director Prasanna Jayasinghe, First Secretary of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Muscat W.D.N.M. Abeyesekera and Al Hilal Industrial Group LLC Production Manager Tilak Maligaspe participated during the webinar.
