The Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2020, the premier economic forum, this year too will have a lineup of timely plenary discussions under the theme ‘Roadmap for Take-Off: Driving a People-Centric Economic Revival’.
The private sector has often been labelled as the engine of economic growth though this has not been the case consistently due to numerous factors. Industry specialists will come together for a dialogue on how COVID-19 will impact the private sector’s role in driving growth and how will they build business models that are resilient, profitable and sustainable.
The discussion will explore how Sri Lanka’s private sector can be competitive and agile locally and globally in response to COVID-19 and how firms can aim to create new job opportunities as part of the economic recovery.
The presenters at this plenary will include EY Asia-Pacific Deputy Area Managing Partner Harsha Basnayake and Sri Lanka Export Development Board Chairman Prabhash Subasinghe. Thereafter the presenters will be joined by Overseas Realty (Ceylon) PLC Group Director/CEO Pravir Samarasinghe, Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd. Chairperson Hajar Alafifi and Board of Investment Sri Lanka Director General Sanjaya Mohottala for a panel discussion moderated by Hemas Holdings PLC Group CEO Kasturi Chellaraja Wilson.
