‘Sri Lanka Print 2018 – Going Global’ was launched by Sri Lanka Association of Printersas the premier platform for the national printing industry to showcase the excellence of print, innovation in print media and creativity in design for print, by taking Sri Lanka’s printing industry to the global market, enabling it to make its mark in the international arena.
The awards night was held on Sunday18 March at Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo, under the patronage of Chief Guest Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Guest of Honour Cyber Group of Companies Singapore Chairman Herbert Cheong.
Softwave Printing & Packaging Ltd., the pioneer print hub in the island, is on the road to expand its infrastructure by introducing eco-friendly printing hub based on today’s cutting edge technology.
Chairman D.D. Kariyawasam and Managing Director Chaminda Kariyawasam are the pioneer personalities behind the success story of the organisation, which has been in operation for almost three decades and is planning to move to a new location with modern infrastructure including new technology in printing and packaging industry.
The management of Softwave Printing& Packaging announced thatat the awards night, it won four Gold medals, four Silver medals and three Bronze medals.
The four Gold medals were awarded for: Brides of Sri Lanka Magazine –Periodicals and Magazines; Emagewise 2018 desk calendar – Office Calendars; Chandrasena Perera’s photography book – Diaries and Single Colour Books; and Shifani Jewellers poster –Marketing Materials Digital.

Softwave won the ‘Sri Lanka Master Printer’ award in 2006/2007 and 2010/2011.
Softwave is a leading printing and packaging organisation in the island. Its group of companies comprises Softwave Printing & Packaging Ltd., Softwave Reprographers Ltd. and Softwave Holdings Ltd. It is involved in quality printing of magazines, annual reports, coffee table books, school textbooks, tabloids, print-on-demand concept, etc.
Softwave is in the process of launching its e-marketing division ‘PrintRoom,’ which offers the facility to its existing clientele and potential customers to acquire services online.
