A three-member delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has arrived to attend a series of events organised in Sri Lanka coordinated by the Saudi Embassy and the Ministry of Finance.
The delegation is led by the SFD CEO Sultan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Murshed.
On arrival, Al-Murshed was received by the Saudi Ambassador in Colombo Abdulnasser Al-Harthi and Finance Ministry officials.
The Embassy said in a press statement that the visit is to complete the implementation of the loans provided by Saudi Arabia for financing development projects in Sri Lanka within the framework of the distinguished relations between the two leaderships and peoples.
CEO Sultan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Murshed will inaugurate the project ‘Improvement of Peradeniya-Badulla-Chenkaladi Road’ and will also lay the foundation stone for the project ‘Development of the Wayamba University District’ which will set up a medical faculty in the university. The CEO is also expected to sign a few MoUs with the Government to expand the areas of cooperation between the two countries, the statement added.
