Samsung yesterday launched its 2018 line up of latest models of QLED TV series, featuring world’s first cadmium-free Quantum Dot technology, with anticipation to reach market leader position in the flat panel televisions in Sri Lanka.
Samsung, which has significantly progressed its way up in the smartphone market, are now reaching into the concept of the next innovation in television. The 2018 TV series line up in the Sri Lankan market includes models up to 65 inches, which have Q Engine technology that automatically upscale on-screen content to UHD levels, to further enhance the viewer’s immersion with a slim, sleek and premium body.
Speaking about the new features of QLED TV series, Samsung Consumer Electronics Deputy General Manager Sabry Ansar said QLED TVs offers the ultimate viewing experience, with exceptionally bold contrast, with all shades of colour brought to life, day and night. The new QLED TV consist of cutting-edge Quantum Dot technology, which replicates a wide colour spectrum with 100% colour volume.
Commenting on the advanced HDR 10+ technology in the QLED TV series, Ansar said: “It improves the reflection-dampening screen which combine to increase contrast display to show the ultimate details from dazzling sunlight to deep, dark shadows, viewers can experience scenes with no distortion of colours. Additionally, we provide our consumers 10 years of warranty for image retention (burn-in),” he added.
Samsung has come up with a new change this year, providing invisible connection. The TV comes with one single cable that transmits both data and power. This is a major innovation, since it will de-clutter cables in your home and ensure that cables don’t come in the way of your TV viewing experience. The new concept of single transparent optical cable, which connects multiple peripherals with no unsightly wires, gives the home a stronger sense of design. With Invisible Connection, no gap gives a clean back to the QLED TV, which exemplifies a minimalist beauty reminiscent of artworks. Connected invisibly, Samsung QLED TV fits perfectly in every modern living room.
Samsung also introduced Ambient Mode, which converts the TV into a canvas that mirrors the pattern on the wall behind the TV. The idea is make the TV blend completely with your home décor, and not let it represent a black border.
The TV can also automatically show you weather updates to reflect whether it is sunny or rainy or snowy in your area. Samsung’s 2018 QLED TV users can also further customise the experience with their own photo collection. In order to set up the wall as your Ambient Mode, users need to capture the picture of their wall with the TV, via the Smart Things app on their Galaxy smartphone, and then the application automatically converts into a wallpaper for the TV. The Ambient Mode is a cool feature, but it won’t really make a huge difference if you plan to mount the TV in front of a plain wall.
The enhanced Samsung One Remote now supports more devices, and offers voice control capabilities across more Smart TV features. One Remote Control not only supports one remote control in multiple devices, it also offers voice recognition and a wide range of Smart TV functions. It gives users the power to control all of their devices, from set-top box, to game console, and everything in between, to access the content they want, when they want.
The new QLED TVs are also designed to seamlessly connect with Smart Things compatible devices to offer users even greater control over their home’s smart technology. In addition, the TV’s universal guide service curates content from the TV and connected sources, to offer users a customised viewing experience that they can enjoy at any time.
The latest series is available to purchase at Singer, Softlogic, Singhagiri, and Damro showrooms and dealers island-wide.
