Sampath Bank recently announced that it will be hosting a workshop which aims to familiarise the youth of the nation on the topic of business entrepreneurship.
This forum will be held at Hotel Blue Sky, Kurunegala on Wednesday, 31 July, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is a part of their ongoing project in association with the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka and YouLead which seeks to put Sri Lanka’s youth on the road towards establishing their own business. As a national bank with a firm belief that Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (MSMEs) are the growing force of the economy, school leavers, undergraduates, youth and all other interested parties who have lofty dreams to start up their own business are encouraged to attend this informative forum. In addition, participation is free of charge as it is in line with Sampath Bank’s mission to promote and develop a new generation of entrepreneurs.
Those who attend will benefit from insight and advice from Dr. Premasiri Gamage who will be conducting the session. Dr. Gamage is a seasoned veteran who has garnered vast knowledge on the topic through his experience as a senior management consultant and a professional trainer. This curated session will educate all prospective entrepreneurs in attendance on how to make correct initial business decisions while increasing quality and productivity which in turn, leads to the outcome of profitability and positive returns.
YouLead – the youth employment and business startup program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the International Executive Service Corps (IESC) – will conduct an informative session on career guidance. The session includes a psychometric test to identify participants’ career personalities based on their skills and preferences. This will provide all participants with a general outlook on how to make and implement informed occupational decisions which will better the participants’ prospects of being productive and content at their jobs.
This series of ongoing workshops reiterates Sampath Bank’s fervent belief that educating and facilitating the development of entrepreneurs will improve the success rates of business start-ups. Another example of Sampath Bank’s strive in this regard is its ‘Sampath Saviya’ Specialised Entrepreneurship Development Program in which financial and non-financial services are offered to local entrepreneurs. All these efforts by Sampath Bank are in line with their corporate purpose of nurturing healthy communities and strengthening employment while encouraging the sustainable development of Sri Lanka.
Those who wish to register for this program are kindly requested to contact National Chamber of Commerce on 0114741788/0762555707.
