SLID to re-commence Board Leadership Director Certification program for 2021

The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors, the pioneering body for board governance in Sri Lanka, announces the re-launch of its premier training program, Board Leadership Director Certification, which is aimed at improving the knowledge of both directors and aspiring directors with comprehensive training sessions focused on corporate governance and director protocols. 

The board leadership program for 2021 will kick-off with its first session on Corporate Governance on 31 March and 1 April at the Ivy Room of the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. 

The program comprising of four parts will shed light on corporate governance including its framework, policies, laws and regulations. The board’s role, directors’ duties will also come under the spotlight while the participants will gain insight into strategic leadership, financial stewardship and accountability in what is said to be the most sought-after training program for directors. 

Commenting on the program, SLID Chairman Rasiah said, “Corporate governance is the norm of the day that enables companies to operate more effectively and reap maximum benefits. Towards that end, Directors and board rooms need to be empowered with required knowledge to better understand what corporate governance is and how to implement it. Board Leadership Director Certification program is the only program designed to groom Directors and aspiring Directors to be successful in the corporate space.”

The Board Leadership Director Certification program is recommended for all directors, including executive directors and aspiring directors. The program will be conducted by highly qualified and experienced lecturers who have a proven track record in conducting such trainings for directors.

The program will be conducted adhering to strict guidelines of health authorities.
