Sri Lanka Electronics Manufacturers and Exporters Association (SLEMEA), in collaboration with Sri Lanka Export Development Board (SLEDB) recently organised a business conference for the Sri Lankan electronics and electrical industry to highlight the importance of the sector in the export market. The conference was held at the EDB and drew around 70 participants.
EDB Director General Jeevani Siriwardane launched the video documentary developed by SLEDB as well as the SLEMEA official web portal to promote and strengthen the electronics and electrical industry locally as well as internationally.
The welcome speech was made by SLEMEA President Chandana Dissanayake who highlighted the importance of the industry and delivered on the ways to strengthen the electronics and electrical sector. Dr. Jayathu G Samarawickrema of the University of Moratuwa, Dr. Mohan Udaya of the University of Kelaniya, and Dr. Sankalpa Gamwarige of Zone 24x7 were among the Guest Speakers who contributed their professional knowledge and personal experience at the business conference.
Guest lectures were delivered on topics such as local industrial electronics product development through policies on import substitution, attracting good quality human resources through human resource development in Electrical/Electronics Manufacturing (EEM) industry and designing customer-centric innovative software and hardware in EEM industry.
