“NFactory will not only revolutionise how manufacturers operate, but also help brands and retailers to run even a small factory by implementing its solution and gain benefits within a very short period of time at an affordable cost,” said nCinga Global Sales Director Mudith Maddumarachchi.
The Sri Lanka Chamber of Garment Exporters (SLCGE) has formed a partnership with Sri Lankan software maker nCinga to launch a special ‘Smart Factory Brand Ambassador’ program. Their goal: To create the next generation of smart factory solutions for all SMEs that are partners with the SLCGE.
nFactory was created by nCinga as an industry 4.0 aligned Smart MES solution to help generate a ‘digital twin’ of the factory floor. The underlying idea being to assist in the making of data driven decisions anywhere at anytime by simply accessing a smart phone with internet connectivity. What’s more, the technology is easy to use and can be deployed in just three days.
According to Bandula Fernando, President of the SLCGE – SME sector, they have initiated an Ambassador programme with nCinga to benefit the SME sector, which has over 70 registered manufacturers to be aligned with Industry 4.0 to shape and transform the global fashion and apparel business while helping in problem solving, root cause analysis, and increasing efficiency to compete with other international and local brands. “We are looking forward to making Sri Lanka competitive with the global garment manufacturing market by implementing lean, effective and efficient processes,” he added.
nCinga Director of Global Sales Mudith Maddumarachchi said, “nCinga’s goal is to provide its customers with the “digitally lean” technology and support they need to thrive and succeed in this new digital marketplace, giving manufactures agility, real-time visibility, and control as they transition from the era of mass production to mass customisation.” Mudith added, “The partnership between nCinga and SLCGE will help Sri Lanka to be more competitive as one of the preferred quality-based apparel manufacturing destinations.” nFactory has already been successfully deployed in some of the largest apparel manufacturers across Asia. Now nCinga is aiming at making it more affordable with this new programme even for the smaller factories looking to start digitising more of their operations and overcome challenges regarding on-time delivery, quality, and efficiency.
Estilo Apparel Ltd. was the first company to implement the new nFactory technology. Managing Director of the clothing brand, Rantha Tissera said, “nCinga’s nFactory real-time data capturing and digitisation solution was introduced to our Hanguranketha plant managed by Kumar Fernando as the first project under the ambassador program. The solution was deployed in the factory within three days and our team has adapted well to the technology. I’m confident that within a short period, we will be able to achieve positive results in reduction of defects and an increase in productivity while meeting delivery targets. At the same time, nFactory will allow us to stop hourly recording by the supervisors, which will enable them to spend more time solving line issues.”
