Royal Cashews wins ‘Gold’ at Lanka Star Awards – 2019

Lanka Star 2019 Gold Award being accepted on 12 September at The Kingsbury by Royal Cashews Group Managing Director Dr. Ruwan Wathugala and Royal Cashews Group New Product Development and Research Manager Ruwan Lahiru Danthanarayana 

Royal Cashews (www.royalcashew.lk), Sri Lanka’s first and foremost industrialised cashew processing company (ISO 22000, HACCP, ISO 14001 Certified), was conferred with a Gold Star at the ‘Lanka Star Awards – 2019,’ the annual award ceremony that recognises the cream of packaging in a particular year.

The annual event organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging was held at The Kingsbury Colombo on 12 September. 

The Gold award won by Royal Cashews was one within the two Gold awards awarded at the ceremony.

The Gold award bestowed on Royal Cashews was for the category of ‘Rigid Packaging’ and the packaging that was recognised as ‘Premium Sri Lankan King Size Cashews with Premium Sri Lankan 9 Spicy Flavours’.

This is the second time Royal Cashews was recognised at the ‘Lanka Star Awards’ and the first award was the ‘Lanka Star President’s Award’ and Gold award for Best Eco Friendly Packaging category.

Royal Cashews Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Ruwan Wathugala, speaking of the newest Gold award clinched by the company, said: “Royal Cashews uses latest, high cutting-edge technology to process cashew products with hygienic conditions and world recognised standard method, by professionals and well-trained staff. This Gold award was an endorsement on that.”

“Royal Cashews has standard certification ISO 14001:2015 EMS on international green-oriented processing, and ISO 22000, HACCP and GMP standard certifications on standardised food processing. Thus we are the only exporting company in Sri Lanka that has been bestowed with all the standard certificates needed for cashew processing,” he added.
