What is Sri Lanka’s strategy to help the country’s economy recover? What should our policy priorities be, both medium and long term, to enable a post-pandemic rebound? Join The Chamber Academy’s discussion on the ‘Roadmap to Post-COVID-19 Economic Recovery’, and engage with economic experts on 12 Friday, from 11-12:30 p.m.
The panel will discuss the macro proposals submitted to the Government by The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, including its merits, and implementation. It will also cover the assessment of measures taken so far by the Government, and what short-term measures need to be taken to ensure socio-economic safety and return to normalcy. The discussion will open with a short presentation by the Chamber’s Chief Economist Shiran Fernando. Verite Research Executive Director Dr. Nishan de Mel, USAID Partner Project Team Leader of Trade Anushka Wijesinha, and Institute of Policy Studies Director Research Dr. Nisha Anuratilake will sit on the panel, which will be moderated by Secretary General and CEO of the Chamber, Manjula de Silva.
