At the fourth e-auction held on 23-24 April (Sale 15) Finlays Tea Estates PLC’s Oodoowerre Estate, Demodara achieved all-time record price for Uva High grown OP1 grade by achieving Rs. 980 per kg. This tea was purchased by Sindbad Ltd. Another Invoice from Battawatte Estate, Madulsima achieved an all-time record of Rs. 900 per kg. Battawatte Estate is managed by Madulsima Plantations PLC, a part of Stassens Group of Companies. This tea was purchased by Akbar Brothers Ltd.
Also from Low Growns an invoice of New Vithanakande Estate BOP1 sold at an all-time record price of Rs. 2,500 per kg bought by J.M.J International Ltd. New Vithanakande Estate is owned by family members of late N.B.H Pilapitiya.
All these teas were successfully market by Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC.
