Being the sole authorised importer and distributor of BMW vehicles in Sri Lanka for over 20 years, Prestige Automobile Ltd. has announced the launch of its latest five year warranty scheme in Sri Lanka market, offering BMW customers the ultimate after-sales care and prolonged peace of mind.
The five-year BMW Extended Warranty is subject to a mileage of 200,000 km. Under this offering, customers are provided after-sales services for defects (except for wear and tear), even after the original two-years warranty period, free of charge subject to the terms and conditions of the extended warranty plan.
Furthermore, the BMW Extended Warranty comes as a standard feature for all new vehicles and it can be purchased at a nominal fee during the validity period of the original BMW Warranty for already purchased vehicles. The pre-requisite is that the vehicle has been correctly driven and that the maintenance, inspection or services have been carried out in full and at the specified intervals (as specified by the service intervals displayed in the vehicle) as outlined by BMW, and that any accident repairs are carried out by BMW authorised Service Centre (Prestige Automobile).

All services provided by statutory warranty claims as well as exclusions of warranty claims, as stated in the conditions of sale for new vehicles, remain unchanged. Furthermore, if the vehicle is sold, the entitlement of services under extended warranty can be transferred to the purchaser for as long as the package remains valid.

The five-year BMW Extended Warranty coverage comprises defects and repairs of the vehicle in accordance with the warranty terms and conditions and it specifically does not include oil service, general maintenance and wear and tear services. The warranty process in place will determine whether the complaint or the defect is really a product problem or any other influence is the cause for the defect, initiated by computer analyser test reports, visual inspection reports, technical information and pictures of physical damages.
If the warranty applies to the defect or the problem, the repair will be carried out free of charge to the customer using BMW genuine spare parts at the BMW authorised dealer. Non-conformance to the prerequisite criteria will result in the extended warranty being considered null and void.
