Following up on last week’s record equalling performance in the Low Grown category, teas sold under the New Vithanakande Mark improved the record for OP1 grade and achieved Rs. 1,460 per kg at this week’s Colombo Tea Auction held on 30/31 October.
New Vithanakande Tea Factory, Delwala in the Sabaragamuwa region, is owned and managed by N.B.H. Pilapitiya.
This record breaking line of tea was purchased by Qualitea Ceylon Ltd. and marketed by Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC.
