‘WinFest’ a career concert powered by NDB and organised by Snipexx successfully concluded at Trace Expert City, Maradana, last Saturday.
The bank’s Vice President of the Human Resources Department Chandrasiri Hewapattini said that WinFest was a digital and physical platform to attract youth offering “edutainment” content while providing the foundation to explore possible options in career. The content was based on competencies in “sales” being an important part of everyone’s personal life and their careers, hence encouraging all youth to embark on their career with a sales involvement.
“We often see the youth in Sri Lanka unable to select the continuation of their education as opposed to following their dream career.
NDB powered WinFest with hope of providing direction and the necessary guidance to such youth, to make their journey uncomplicated,” Hewapattini said.
WinFest was two-prong. The Career Concert featured influential entrepreneurs such as Yasas Hewage, Randhir Withana, Makshoodh Meerasaibu and Sharon Mascarenhas.
“These speakers were showcased because they too have started off in sales at the onset of their careers and have now made themselves into renowned personalities,” added Hewapattini.
Accordingly, NDB showcased their talent during the Career Concert where Pavithra Madushani and Chathuranga Kumara enraptured the audience with their success stories.
Furthermore, the bank’s official band ‘Skillart’ consisting of the bank’s staff members too performed at the Career Concert further enhancing NDB’s “edutainment” culture.
The Career Fair – which continued throughout the morning – opened a host of career opportunities for budding professionals who were seeking jobs.
NDB was available to discuss opportunities for entry level job seekers such as the three month internship that was offered to school leavers and those who wished to understand sales.
NDB has made considerable strides towards the Sri Lankan banking and finance sector, expanding and evolving a range of products and services accessible through its growing branch network.
