A pioneer in the office automation and technology industry, the Metropolitan Group has revealed added stringent personal health and safety measures being implemented across all its retail showrooms, the mCentres island-wide to reduce the risk of the coronavirus infection.
The Metropolitan Group in a bid to ensure a safe and secure shopping environment for patrons to their showroom outlets have installed Sharp Air Purifiers with its patented plasma cluster technology in all mCentres across the island.
“In a time when organisations in any industry are looking at means and options to ensure the safety of their employees, as well as customers, the Sharp range of air purifiers offers an added layer of protection,” Head of Retail and SMB Shamaz Hossen said.
More recently research by the Sharp Corporation revealed its air purifying technology as being able to reduce the effectiveness of the airborne novel coronavirus particles, claiming it as a world first. The results were released in September 2020 and conducted in partnership with Nagasaki University.
The Plasmacluster Ion technology engineered and patented by Sharp is the recipient of the prestigious Invention Prize at the 2008 National Invention Awards Ceremony held by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII). “Given the current economic conditions when operations are being scaled down and employees have to work in close confines, or in industries such as hospitality or the medical industry, the Sharp Air Purifier offers an added layer of protection by removing contaminants such as germs, viruses, dust, and mould,” Senior Manager – Marketing Hasalaka De Silva said.
He further added, “Unlike basic purifiers that come with air conditioning units, the Plasmacluster Ion technology in Sharp Air purifiers will actually act on the harmful novel coronavirus which other purifiers are not capable of.”
This timely initiative by the Metropolitan mCentres, is a first of its kind experience among retail outlets, and is aimed at reducing the effects of the coronavirus.
Metropolitan Computers, the IT arm of the Metropolitan Group, launched the mCentre as a one-stop IT hub where equipment needs could be met.
The showroom guarantees the Metropolitan Group’s assurance of quality and trust behind every purchase. Be it after sales service or technical advice to make the correct purchase or advising customers on the best technology related devices, mCentre team members are always on hand. In addition, the outlet offers attractive credit/debit card promotions. In addition, every centre is equipped with experienced technical service teams to attend to on-the-spot device repairs.
A reliable partner in innovation throughout generations, the Metropolitan Group has been serving the nation for more than 60 years. Through its subsidiary companies its footprint is entrenched in almost every industry sector in the country.
