The Cabinet this week approved the procurement of 32,000 vials of 100mg/4ml Denosumab injection used for the treatment of certain cancers.
Of the four international competitive bids received, the tender of Rs. 220.8 million was won by Medmart Pharma Ltd., of Sri Lanka, to procure the injections as recommended by the Cabinet-appointed Standing Procurement Committee. The proposal submitted by Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi was approved by the Cabinet this week.
Medmart Pharma Ltd. is a privately-owned pharmaceutical company aspiring to be the well-recognised name of Sri Lanka’s pharmaceutical industry. It began operations in 2012, in the field of importing and marketing products in the Oncology, Nephrology, Blood and Injectable range.
