Malaysian Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan has said that the Malaysian Government has agreed to hire 10,000 workers from Sri Lanka.

Human Resources Minister in a statement today has said that the Malaysian Cabinet has agreed to bring in 10,000 migrant workers from Sri Lanka and the decision has been taken considering the situation of Sri Lanka in the current economic crisis.
He said the decision to take in the Sri Lankan workers was one of Malaysian Government’s efforts to assist Sri Lanka in braving its economic crisis.
The Malaysian Minister said the Sri Lankan Government has submitted an official application for manpower supply to 10,000 workers.
“I urge employers and businesses to support the Government’s intentions by hiring these Sri Lankan migrant workers to fill up vacancies in the relevant sectors,” Saravanan said in the statement.
