Leema Creations recognised as best in interior solutions industry

Leema Creations Ltd., the foremost interior solutions provider and the home & office furniture manufacturer had been recognised as the best in the industry by Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Sri Lanka (FCCISL) at their annual Award Ceremony held in BMICH on 12 February. Leema Creations won the National Gold Award in Extra Large Manufacturing Category and Provincial Gold Award in the same category. This is the ninth consecutive year that the Company has won an Award at this prestigious award ceremony.

Founded in the year 2000, with a humble beginning in a less than 1500 sq. ft. shelter with a few staff members, the organisation has evolved into an 80,000 sq. ft. mega structure with a work force of over 250 persons as at today. At present the Company operates under the certification and the guidelines of ISO 9001: 2015. 

The business volume growth of Leema Creations during the past few years has increased by tenfold due to the gradual increase of capacity by way of floor area, technology, skill and sophisticated modern machinery. The Company is currently on a 100 million rupee expansion program to increase the floor area further and to introduce more of the most modern fully automated machinery in addition to the prevailing facilities. The existing manufacturing plant is one of the most advanced in Sri Lanka with a combination of computerised equipment and fine craftsmanship which ensures exact execution of any project undertaken.  The continuous success of the Company is directly related to the Brand Vision. Leema is constantly engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility programs by providing assistance to hospitals, schools and other needy institutions and individuals. Competently guided by the industry veteran, Founder, and Managing Director Channa Wijesekara, and Director/CEO Shamika Wijesekara, Leema continues to be the force to be reckoned with in the interior and furniture market. Channa Wijesekara is a Member of Engineering Council of Sri Lanka, a Fellow of the Institution of Incorporated Engineers, a Director of Manufacturing and Engineering Services Industry Skills Council (MESSCO), the incumbent President of the “Wood Based Industrialists’ Association in Sri Lanka (WBIA) and the Chairman of Advisory Council to the Ministry of Commerce & Industries on Wood Industry sector. He is an Incorporated Engineer having obtained his National Diploma from the University of Moratuwa and has successfully completed 2-year Technical Teacher’s Program in Germany and also obtained Diploma in Educational Administration from Landau University in Germany followed by Vocational School Industry Corporation Program in the Philippines. 

He is one of the most recognised curriculum writer in wood and interior industry and an author of 3 books published in wood technology.
