Lanka IOC Plc inaugurated the fourth Electrical Vehicle (EV) charging station at one of its prestigious petrol sheds Felix Pereira and Son, Colombo 7 on 25 February, fulfilling its commitment to building future pathways towards a greener tomorrow.
Lanka IOC Plc Managing Director Manoj Gupta inaugurated the latest EV charging station in the presence of a distinguished gathering including esteemed customers, Lanka IOC dealers, key personalities from the area and Lanka IOC officials. In keeping with Sri Lankan culture and tradition, the guests were welcomed with a traditional Kandyan dance.
Expressing his views at the occasion, Gupta stated that apart from regular modern facilities being provided at all retail outlets, Lanka IOC has gone a step further by providing an EV charging facility at this retail outlet for use by all types of EVs and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles (PHEVs).
“We are committed to achieving sustainable development in the energy sector by meeting the social and environmental demands of society,” he added.
Lanka IOC is committed to reducing carbon footprints across the island by adopting a cleaner and renewal source of energy.
He emphasised that switching to EV would reduce fossil fuel consumption in the transportation and energy sector as it would go a long way in controlling air pollution and creating a highly green and conducive environment.
This is the most modern EV facility in Sri Lanka, which is a self-operational unit provided by ChargeNET having its own usage mobile app. This EV charging facility is powered by the ChargeNET smart mobile application, a fully-automated unmanned operation and cloud-based backend system which enables smart monitoring, smart payments and station management for the ultimate user experience.”
Felix Pereira and Son, Colombo 7 is one of the flagship petrol sheds of Lanka IOC, which is fully automated and has all modern facilities along with all types of cleaner fuels including high octane petrol and low sulphur diesel, SERVO lubricants and customer convenience facilities such as a Cargills shop, two ATMs, a vehicle service station and nitrogen filling point.
